If you are using a compound miter saw, you might be interested in the two Excel spreadsheets I developed to calculate the miter and bevel angles for cutting compound joints. These spreadsheets will also perform other calculations that may be of use
to you. For example, I have included a quick way to check the "spring
angle" of your molding by making two measurements and entering them as
explained in the Excel sheets. The two sections are separated as follows: |

| Only the red numbers can be entered: | ||||
| Crown molding angle a = | 52 | deg. | ||
| Wall angle b = | 90 | deg. | ||
| Miter angle M needs to be: | 31.6 | deg. | ||
| Bevel angle B needs to be: | 33.9 | deg. | ||

| Crown molding angle a = | 52 | deg. |
| Wall angle b = | 235 | deg. |
| Miter angle M needs to be: | -17.8 | deg. |
| Bevel angle B needs to be: | -21.3 | deg. |
