This was going to be a short cruise; only four nights and three ports. We had not been on a large ship for quite some time and were not used to the long lines to register and board the ship. The average age of the passengers was also much lower than ours, but it was fun to be amongst the younger crowd.

We left Miami late in the afternoon. The ship turned around in this basin and we followed another cruise ship out to sea. The last view was of South Beach, where we had tried to go two days earlier. We would be there for our last day after the cruise.

Despite the injury to my knee (which is another story), we walked around the ship to explore the various things to see and do. The pool was the main attraction during the day at sea (I must have taken this shot when most were still sleeping), but so was the breakfast place, the Windjammer. The food was generally ok, but not terrific and limited in selection; something we are not used to on other cruise ships. In the evening, after dinner in the dining room, we found furry animals in our cabin.

Our first port was Nassau in the Bahamas. I only show a couple pictures here. For more details and what we ended up doing, go to the Nassau Walking Tour. Certainly, our lunch of conch fritters and salad (raw conch with onions, tomatoes, etc) was unusual and fun. The blocks of stamps, a ceramic bell and a tee shirt were the only souvenirs.

Then it was on to our next stop: Coco Cay.
