I am going to jump ahead and show you two family pictures first. Then we will talk about where and what we did during our Thanksgiving's week on Kauai. Don't be surprised if you don't recognize the kids (and some of the older folks). The Fox girls, have grown up to be real great, young adults (well, teenagers), while the boys are neat guys and a pleasure to be with. They know what fun is all about. Ava, of course, is in a class of her own, as you will see later. Keep in mind that this was for Sharon's 70th birthday, so we tried to treat her right. |

Sharon and I arrived three days earlier, did some shopping and got the lay-of-the-land. When the other two families arrived in Lihue, Kauai, they got settled in their condos, did a bit of shopping for groceries and that evening we had a simple dinner of spaghetti and meatballs in our unit. We had decided to prepare our own meals as much as possible, rather than going out every night. Notice we used paper plates that first evening but that did not last long and we used all the pots and pans that were available to us. We shared a lot of them as well as the meals. Although breakfast was to be on our own, we did mingle that also. But dinners were mostly BBQ ribs, hamburgers, hot-dogs, chicken, and a turkey breast (after all this was for Thanksgivings week). |

The older kids remembered from our stay here a couple years ago that during dusk hours the toads would come out. |

Katie found this ginkgo near our front door, and then there were the chickens. Chickens are everywhere on Kauai and they run around wild. |

That evening we could have had BBQ frog legs and chicken for dinner. |
