We drove up north and stayed in "the Lodge at Running Y", a nice resort along the west side of Klamath Lake. We were lucky and had great weather so we could take part of the many activities, such as bicycling, kayaking and bird watching. This is also a great place for long walks. The resort claims to have the only golf course in Oregon that was designed by Arnold Palmer. |

It is great place to take a kayak out for a paddle around the lagoon and watch some of the wildlife. In no time we spotted some white pelicans, several species of ducks and geese and two turkey vultures. We were wondering who was going to have who for dinner! |

The-Running-Y was our home base for three nights. On the second day we drove up north to see Crater Lake. Click here to see more details. Then we decided to play some golf. The front nine is partly along the lagoon, then the holes go up-hill to finish the ninth with a long par four down to the club house. The back nine is in a large meadow plus a wooded section that goes into a canyon. We had fun trying our luck and didn't loose too many balls. |

After we checked out, we drove to Ashland and spent one night there. The following morning a van picked us up for a day's rafting down the Upper Klamath River. To see some more pictures of that click here |
