| I remember the manager, Terima Kasih, telling us, with a smile, not to worry when asked if our two-bedroom suite had separate bathrooms. According to the ladies that was a big point to confirm. He took us down a long hallway, opened a door marked "Residence" . . . and I can still hear the ladies going, "Oh my gosh!" |

| We had entered the top floor of what would all be ours for five days. A palace for a sultan. Tarima introduced us to our houseboy, who would be at our disposal anytime during the day, then he led us quickly through the rooms at the second level. They included a formal living-room, a sitting-room with a table with fresh fruit (daily refreshed, of course), and the two bedrooms. I think at this point he quietly disappeared as we stood there with our jaws on our chests. | ![]() |

| Yes, we did have separate bathrooms; quite elegant. Then, as we explored our new abode, we found a gym-room with workout equipment, on the same floor. It was connected to a sundeck above the main entry way and had beautifully decorated lounge chairs underneath an ornate canopy. |

| As we descended the grand stairway, we found the main entry with a private driveway, a reception room, another formal living-room, the kitchen with a small staff entry, and the dining-room. The cupboards were full of elegant china, crystal and silverware. Large wood carvings, original paintings and vases decorated the walls. |

| The main hit was our private pool with fountains and two observation decks. The whole place was surrounded by a wall and later we found out that even the windows were made out of bullet proof glass. We were quite secure. |

It was time for a glass of wine and thank our lucky star. On our last day at the Residence we invited some friends to join us for lunch in our dining room. They were quite impressed to say the least. |
