| Christmas for 2008 was a bit confusing. It all started at our place with Sandra and her family frosting cookies and wonderful chocolates, while Sharon played with Brian building balancing blocks. We had a nice dinner with great-grandma and then it was off to southern California for a few days at a resort near Escondido. |

| The parents of BJ have a timeshare condo at the Welk Resort and made it available to him for a week between Christmas and New Years. Sharon and I decided to be there also and rented a two-bedroom unit for a few days. Susan and Troy joined us, so we could all be together for at least one night. Unfortunately Troy had to go back to work the following Monday. |

| This is how we celebrated Christmas. A bit late, but lots of fun for the kids and adults alike. We all got toys and usefull gifts. Again, some of us decided that this was too much, none of this next year . . . . . But it all fell on deaf ears. |

| The Welk Resort has four sections of condos, each with its own pool and entertainment center. There is a main 'village' with shops, restaurant and theatre. Two short golf courses wind through the rolling hills, offering some challenge and nice views. The name comes from the TV famous band leader Lawrence Welk. |

| The mornings were crisp and cold, but the sun warmed things up quickly and the kids had fun in the pool and water slide. Click here to see some of their antics. |
